Childhood dreams

When we were kids, we would have dreamt of having lots of toys. Sometimes we might have not got them because they were not affordable or not available in the market. Sometimes we might have got the toy we dreamt of but they would not have fulfilled our expectations due to the quality or the features available in it. Sometimes we might have felt fully satisfied with the toy and thought of passing on the same or a better one with the trending features to the next generation.

Need for more

There are very few toys/products available that can serve multiple purposes and or can be used across age groups. Hence, we invest on multiple products to satisfy our needs. This is not only consuming more money and space but also leading us to donate/discard the things which we have outgrown or no longer require after minimal usage. In the due course we are forgetting that all these products that we have taken are from nature destroying it directly or indirectly. This causes guilty feelings in our minds.

Our urge to make DIY products

Keeping all these factors in mind when we browsed through the available toys/products in the market we were not satisfied either with the quality or cost or functionality. So, we started doing some DIY toys for our kids based on our childhood experience and our expectation to make toys using available scrap materials at home. This made us to recollect our childhood dreams on several occasions.

With our background and experience in engineering field and with our desire and innovative thinking we attempted to make few DIY products which really helped our children to learn engineering ideas while assembling and changing accessories to serve different functionalities. Since we had a serious thought on limiting the damage caused to the nature, we selected solid recycled wood and metal parts for most of our products. We also ensured that the accessories that we design will not only limit its purpose as toys and other needs for the kids, but it can be repurposed and utilized for day to day home applications and further it can be passed on to the next generation kids again.

Birth of BOMMAKATTA

We thought of sharing with all other parents, our joy and experience which we have been getting while seeing our kids play with the toys we have made. That is where we got the spark to start “Bommakatta” products. We are happy to welcome you all into our new Bommakatta family.

Since we have grown up from villages and worked in multiple cities, we wanted to merge the culture of both villages and cities. So, we decided to kick start our new venture from our native which will really help the rural population to learn and as well as earn for their living.

Giving back to our mother nature

We know kids learn from what they see and love. Toys and nature are the two things which every kid loves more. All the materials that we use for our products are taken from nature. We should realize that every one of us has the responsibility and accountability to give back to the nature so that our future generations also get the privilege to enjoy the beauty of nature and its quality of continuous unconditional gifting to the needs of the mankind. Hence, we have decided to provide native breed seeds in order to maintain ecological balancing, for every purchase you make. We will also equally plant a tree as our social responsibility.

Why native breeds only?

Nature has its own ecological balancing system. Trees and plants play a very important role in it. Native trees and plants of a region grow based on the climatic and other geographical conditions of the region to maintain ecological balancing. They produce flowers, fruits and other things which serve as food and other needs for the human, animals, birds, insects and other living creatures of that region. Native trees and plants support and enrich the eco system of the region compared to the ornamental and destructive nature of the invasive plants and trees.

Who We Are ?

After every trip to Hawaii, I always have a few DMs asking where we stayed, our favorite beaches, etc. Especially with spring break around the corner, I wanted to share a recap of our trip a couple weeks ago.
